HELEN NIELSEN

Helen Nielsen has been practising yoga for more than 30 years. She obtained her Teacher's Certificate from the Young Yoga Institute in 1987.

She has attended seminars and workshops hosted by International teachers and currently teaches from her Yoga Studio at 40 Mkhula Road, Westville, Kwazulu Natal, South Africa and various venues in the Highway area.

Hatha yoga is the science of body postures, called asanas. It is an ART because it is practised and it is a SCIENCE because its claims can be proven.

A fit and supple body can be developed through the practice of asanas. The asanas work on all the bodily systems, toning the muscles, stimulating the circulation and improving overall health.

The benefits are not merely physical: as the postures are mastered and techniques introduced for relaxation and breath control, yoga has the power to calm the mind, increase concentration and give the ability to cope with tension. It is a complete system for personal development, promoting total physical and spiritual well-being.
