INTERNET ROMANCE
Internet Romance – oh what a rush!
I think I have developed a crush.
It’s so exciting and thrilling and new.
I think we must meet! How about you?
You sound so amazing and we chat for hours.
You email me postcards and virtual flowers.
It’s all so romantic, stimulating and fun.
My heart is thinking “Are you the one?”
If we met in a pub, we just wouldn’t speak
Because I’m a snob and you look like a geek!
I’d give you a look and turn up my nose
And say “No Thanks” to a drink or a rose.
But dating in cyberspace cuts through all that.
You do what’s important in life – you chat.
You talk about everything, share your views,
Your thoughts, your feelings and your news.
There are many obstacles to overcome.
The distance between to name just one!
Another big bind is the difference in time
Anything from two hours to nine!
I wonder too – how much is true
Of all the things you say about you.
Are you really single, no kids, 39?
‘cause if you are, you’ll do just fine!
Or are you married and having a peep
At what’s out there – while your wife’s asleep!
Or are you only thirteen? Just as bad!
If I find that out, I will really be mad!
I must confess though, that I have learned
Not to let my head get too turned!
These cyberspace romances start with a sizzle.
They burn very hot but end in a fizzle. :(
