At this stage, An Independent Woman is the last poem I wrote.


AN INDEPENDENT WOMAN

I'm an independent woman - a 90's girl it's true.
And if I consider you my friend, I will be there for you.
I'm not a needy, clinging type. I just want to know you care.
When I've had a really rotten day, could your shoulder be there??

I don't need 15 calls a day or expensive gifts and things.
I just want the fuzzy feeling being cared for brings.
I'm self-sufficient on my own, but functions are a pain.
Oh No! At the Christmas Do, will I be on my own again?

Looks are not important - but there must be chemistry.
I don't want "Mr Right". I want "Mr Right For Me".
Ability to use your brain is my requirement number one.
Conversation is important - soliloquies are not much fun!

A great sense of humour is requirement number two.
And no, sarcasm doesn't count in my book - thank you!
Consideration and thoughtfulness combine in number three
Because those are the qualities that you will find in me.

Number four would have to be you've achieved career success.
You have to be someone I respect - I won't accept any less.
A sense of fair play and morals too would finish off the man.
