“Dianne’s Lament” was written in April 1987 in a self-pity mood!  According to the dictionary, a lament is a "passionate expression of grief"!!!

DIANNE’S LAMENT

It’s strange how ironical life can be.
The men that I like … don’t like me!
Let me explain my predicament
And you’ll understand my poor lament.

The kind of man that I have in mind,
Is one who is thoughtful, generous and kind,
Successful, hardworking and in love with me.
Those are the things I’d like him to be.

I get all the bastards and jerks and nerds
Who give me a pain and work on my nerves.
They phone me, send cards and flowers galore
But I just find them a total bore!

Why is it that I just cannot find
The “Mister Perfect” of all mankind.
Do you suppose that it could be
He wants “Miss Perfect” and not just me?
